TRYOUTS
What is the elite academy program?
This is the high level competitive/rep division of our academy with multiple teams ranging from 2020 - 2004 born players. Our teams participate in either the Toronto Soccer League (TOSL) or OSA I-Model for certain U13+ teams. We believe in high training volume and a development-focused elite training philosophy inspired by the German soccer framework. A variety of our coaches have played or worked at a professional level and have high level certifications.
Who are our tryouts for?
CFA tryouts are for passionate and motivated players with a dedication to the game of soccer and a hunger to reach their full potential. Players are expected to regularly attend trainings and be available for games/tournaments. Only intermediate-high skill level players should do a team tryout, beginner players please register for our FUNdamentals program at this link: https://www.canadafirstacademy.com/fundamentals . For intermediate players who are almost ready for competitive but still need to develop we also offer the Pre-Elite program with a higher level coaching and playing environment which can be found at: https://www.canadafirstacademy.com/development-academy.
HOW DO OUR TRYOUTS WORK?
We usually run two types of tryouts: open and standard. Open tryouts are free and are independent from our team training featuring a number of outside players being evaluated simultaneously. They only happen a few times a year and are sometimes restricted to certain ages. The registration for these appears at the top of the booking page. Standard tryouts happen during the team's training where the coaches evaluate them within the greater context of the team. These are often more ideal than the open tryouts as players can get more direct evaluation and a better impression of the team, they also are happening year round compared to the open tryouts. To book a standard tryout please select your the team for your birth year on the booking page.

Outdoor locations: Oakridge Park, Birchmount Park, Dentonia Park, St Patricks Secondary, Monarch Park Stadium. Indoor locations: MLS Arena, Monarch Park Stadium, Polson Pier Ballsports
WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN CFA?
CFA has built itself on love for the game and a dedication to elite long term player development over everything. Our philosophy is characterized by a willingness to put the player's and team's needs first over short term wins, as well as prioritizing ball touches and aiming to create world-class playing talent. Through this we have developed top-level alumni playing for teams such as Juventus, Team Canada, Toronto FC and Ajax Amsterdam. Our coaching staff is highly certified and experienced with many coaching or playing at a professional level. We have provided many opportunities in European soccer to our players through guest-trainings at teams such as Bayern Munich, 1860 Munich, Unterhaching, Ingolstadt and our yearly international camp in Toronto with European coaches. Our tight-knit and loyal community of parents and players has long been a highlight of our teams, creating an academy-wide family environment which we greatly appreciate and enjoy.
