Fernando da Rocha
I grew up playing soccer in Portugal. I always loved the sport and wanted to become a professional soccer player, like every kid from Portugal. I played in Portugal from the ages of 10 to 16 and I won a title there when I was 13/14 years old. When I turned 16 years old I moved into Canada with my parents and played in the winter at The Hangar until I was 18. I played for Peniche at the time. At 18 years old I went to college and had less time to play soccer, so I decided to stop and focus more on my studies.
In terms of coaching experience, I do not have much. But, in my last year in high school I did 3 months as an assistant coach at St. John Bosco school and I loved it. I love to see kids develop and how happy they are playing the sport they love. I am at a point in my life where I want to reconnect more with soccer and create a positive impact in younger kids and help them in anyway I can. |
